FORKS — The Forks boys and girls track and field teams swept a three-team Evergreen League meet against Tenino and Hoquiam on Wednesday.
Forks (59 points) edged the Beavers (56) and Grizzlies (25) to win the boys meet.
There were three multi-event winners for the Spartans.
Sophomore Wesley Camacho set a personal record in the 400-meter run with a time of 1 minute, .45 seconds and also ran to a win in the 800 in 2:25.40.
Junior Matthew Larson set season bests in winning both long-distance runs, taking the 1,600 in 5:17.75 and the 3,200 with a time of 11:50.83.
Senior Luke Dahlgren dominated the discus with a distance of 152 feet, six inches, nearly 22 feet further than runner-up teammate Skyler Steffen (130-10).
Steffen won the javelin with a throw of 120-11 and senior teammate Aaron Bennett set a personal record with a second-place throw of 115-01.
Freshman Hayden Queen set a new best in the high jump (5-09) and Ashton Doyle claimed the triple jump with a new best leap of 35-08.
In the girls meet, Forks posted 68 points to best Tenino (39) and Hoquiam (30).
Senior Melisa Galindo won two events, the 800 in 2:52.87 and the 1,600 in a season-best 6:19.28.
Sophomore Karen Ensastegui-Salazar ran down a win in the 3,200 (13:45.54).
Freshman Candida-Rose Sandoval won the 300 hurdles (56.22), Lindsey Edwards topped a field of 10 to win the shot put with a new best throw of 27-05.25 and Kesia Rowley won the javelin by nearly seven feet (83-02).
Freshman Julia Biciunas cleared 4-06 to win the high jump.
Forks competes today at the Spudder Classic in Ridgefield.
Softball Port Angeles 19, North Mason 4
BELFAIR — The Roughriders put together a 16-run seventh inning to rally past the Bulldogs on Wednesday.
Port Angeles pounded out 19 hits in the game and have recorded 35 runs and 39 hits in their last two contests.
Zoe Smithson doubled twice, homered and drove in three runs for the Riders.
Madi Roening also homered, doubled and brought home four runs.
Lucah Folden had three hits, including a double, and had four RBIs for Port Angeles.
The Riders (7-3, 9-6) played Sequim (8-3, 10-4) in a nonleague game late Thursday. Port Angeles hosts North Mason on Tuesday.
Baseball Peninsula 6, Port Angeles 5
GIG HARBOR — The Riders saw their 14-game winning streak come to an end in a walkoff victory by the Class 3A Seahawks (9-5, 14-5).
Peninsula took advantage of six Port Angeles errors, including two in the bottom of the seventh, to rally past the Riders.
Port Angeles scored all five of its runs in the third.
Joel Wood doubled with out one and scored on Gavin Guerrero’s single to left.
Bo Bradow added an RBI double and Milo Whitman’s sacrifice fly gave the Riders a 3-2 lead.
Lucas Jarnagin continued his monster week with a two-run home run to center, his third home run in the past two games.
Port Angeles (12-0, 16-4) opens district tournament play Saturday at Gene Lobe Field at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton against the winner of a game between Eatonville and Steilacoom at 5:30 p.m.
Girls Tennis Sequim 6, North Mason 1
BELFAIR — The Olympic League-champion Wolves completed an undefeated regular season with a victory over the Bulldogs.
Sequim’s No. 4 doubles duo of Chloe Goldate and Kayli Prorok teamed to win a super tiebreaker to win the most competitive match of the day.
The Wolves (16-0) will compete in the Olympic League Championships at North Kitsap on Friday, May 10.
Port Angeles 7, Bremerton 0
BREMERTON — The Roughriders didn’t drop a single set in sweeping the Knights to round out the regular season.
Port Angeles (7-9) will compete at the Olympic League Tennis Championships at North Kitsap on Friday, May 10.
Chimacum 4, Coupeville 3
CHIMACUM — The Cowboys’ No. 1 doubles team of Renee Woods and Grace Yaley won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Chimacum’s No. 2 and No. 3 singles players Madison Hess and Denisse Lopez each won their matches.
Hess triumphed 7-6, 6-1 and Lopez won 6-1, 6-0.
The No. 4 doubles duo of Tiffany Bell and Sophia Patterson also won 6-4, 6-0 for the Cowboys.
Chimacum will host the Olympic League 1A Tournament starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
