FORKS — On a windy day on the Tillicum Park diamond, Forks softball dusted North Beach 28-0 and 25-0 in games halted by the 15-run mercy rule after three innings.
The Spartans essentially turned the games into batting and baserunning practice, belting out 25 hits in two turns at bat in the first contest and 27 more in three trips to the plate in game two.
Chloe Leverington was a combined 7 for 7 at bat with a two-run home run to left field in game two, three doubles and six RBIs.
Kyrissa Duncan also feasted at bat, going 8 for 8 with five doubles and eight RBIs.
Elizabeth Soto was 7 for 8 with a triple, three doubles and six RBIs.
Kyra Neel went 5 for 7 with an inside-the-park home run, a triple, three doubles and six RBIs.
Aspen Rondeau also went 4 for 5 with an inside-the-park home run, a ground-rule double and five RBIs.
The Spartans also saluted seniors Kray Horton, Colbie Rancourt and Leverington.
Forks (8-2) hosts Pe-Ell/Willapa Valley in a doubleheader today.

Forks sweeps North Beach
OCEAN SHORES — The Spartans remained unbeaten in Pacific League play with an 18-0 and 24-3 doubleheader sweep of the Hyaks on Tuesday.
In game one, Carter Windle and Dalton Kilmer combined on a four-inning one-hitter, and Trey Baysinger and Logan Olson both homered to power a Forks offense that totaled 14 hits.
Baysinger was 4 for 4 with a three-run home run, a double and six RBIs. Kilmer also went 4 for 4 with two triples and three RBIs.
Windle struck out five in two innings while Kilmer added two strikeouts in his two innings of work.
Kilmer’s bat stayed red-hot in game two as the Spartans’ leadoff hitter went 6 for 6 at the plate with three doubles, a triple, four RBIs and five runs.
Olson also tripled and doubled on his way to a 5-for-5 day at the plate with four RBIs and three runs.
Riley Pursley had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs and scored three runs.
Baysinger also doubled twice on his way to three hits and three RBIs. He also struck out five in two innings on the hill.
Ryan Rancourt added two hits, three RBIs and scored three runs for the Spartans (7-0).
Forks visits Pe-Ell/Willapa Valley today.
Track and Field
Forks at Ocosta meet
WESTPORT — The Spartan girls ended up second and the boys third in a seven-team track meet at Ocosta High School on Tuesday.
Kesia Rowley was the lone individual event winner for Forks, taking the 400-meter race with a time of 1 minute, 12.58 seconds.
Rowley also was a member of the Spartans’ winning 4×100 relay team along with Myranda Walsh, Kendall Marshall and LillyAnn Crowell.
In the boys meet, Skyler Steffen won three throwing events to pace the Spartans.
Steffen took the javelin with a throw of 135 feet, 3 inches, the discus with a distance of 139-3 and the shot put with a throw of 42-0.
Ashton Doyle leapt 17-10 to win the long jump for Forks, while Wesley Camacho ran down a win in the 800 in 2:33.36.
Forks competes at a Pacific League meet at South Bend today.
Girls Golf
Port Angeles 226, South Kitsap 241
PORT ORCHARD — The Riders’ Eve Burke, Piper Williams and Saylah Commerton all tied for match medalist honors with rounds of 55 in breezy weather at Trophy Lake Golf & Casting Club on Tuesday.
The trio of Port Angeles players are cousins, according to Riders coach Mike DuPuis.
Katie Marchant’s 61 also counted toward the team score.
“Second straight win (for) the girls,” DuPuis said. “Windy conditions and lots of bunkers. The pins were set in some extremely tough spots on the greens. [This was a] very good learning experience as far as when to go at flags and when to play safe. I was very proud of how they played under those difficult conditions.”
Olympic 225, East Jefferson 283
PORT LUDLOW — Alyssa Vandenberg shot a round of 67 to lead the East Jefferson girls in a nine-hole match with the Trojans.
Logan McMichael added a 72 for East Jefferson.
Olympic’s Tayana Ignacio posted a 49 to lead all players.
Boys Golf
South Kitsap 193, Port Angeles 220
PORT ORCHARD — Derek Sparks led Port Angeles with a round of 51 on the par-36 front nine at Trophy Lake Golf & Casting Club.
“Tough day for the Roughrider boys finding the consistency needed,” coach Gil Stockton said. “That is the biggest challenge these guys face. A special shout-out to Reid Schmidt for the best round of his career.”
Schmidt totaled a 52, while Edun Bailey shot a 54 and James Grubb a 63 for Port Angeles.
Olympic 191, East Jefferson 227
PORT LUDLOW — Braley Phillips led East Jefferson with a round of 47 in a match played at Port Ludlow Golf Club on Tuesday.
Wilder Lewis totaled a 57, Lane Liske a 60 and Isaac Reid added a 63 to round out the scoring for East Jefferson.
Marcus Horan was match medalist for Olympic with a round of 41.
