PA at league

BREMERTON — The Port Angeles Roughriders sent two singles players (Reef Gelder and Edun Bailey) and two doubles teams (Wyatt Hall-Caleb Flodstrom and Seth Woods-Jacob Miller) to Central Kitsap for the Olympic League Tournament last week.

Port Angeles had a third-place finisher in both singles (Gelder) and doubles (Hall-Flodstrom).

The Roughriders finished with a third-place finish as a team in the 11-team tournament. The Riders, who finished the regular season with an 8-1 record, say goodbye to seniors Hall, Flodstrom and Woods).

But coach Brian Gunderson said the team has a lot of young players to continue building the program.

“I was really happy with the outcome of the tournament. The guys showed up ready to play and put their best foot forward,” Gunderson said.
