PREP ROUNDUP: East Jefferson soccer makes push for postseason

PORT TOWNSEND — The East Jefferson boys soccer team won a critical game for postseason Saturday, beating Seattle Christian 3-2 to move past the Warriors into third place in the Nisqually League

The Rivals have gone 4-0-1 over their past five matches. The last time East Jefferson lost was on April 10.

With the win, the Rivals moved to 4-2-1 in league play with 13 points, moving past Seattle Christian at 4-2-0 (12 points). East Jefferson can lock up third place with a win Thursday at Bellevue Christian (2-4-0, 6 points). They could even possibly move into second place, though that is a long shot with second-place Vashon (5-1-0, 15 points) still having a game left against last-place Life Christian. Cascade Christian is well ahead of the rest of the pack at 8-0-0 (24 points).

“We really want to win that game at Bellevue Christian,” said coach Logan Stegner.

Scoring for the Rivals were Alan Morales, Grady White and freshman Jackson Madison. Earning assists were Jameson Henery and Rene Martin. Emilio Lopez earned the victory in goal.
