POULSBO — Teagan Clark pitched a complete-game four-hitter and helped herself at the plate with her first home run of the season as Port Angeles knocked off North Kitsap 8-5 in an Olympic League softball contest.
“PA only got five hits, but three of them were home runs and enough to secure the win,” coach Randy Steinman said. “Peyton Rudd’s two-run blast in the seventh inning gave us a little insurance against a good hitting North Kitsap team.
Port Angeles (4-1, 8-1) hosts Kingston today.

SEQUIM — Angel Wagner fired a complete-game two-hitter and the Wolves’ bats woke up for an Olympic League win over the Buccaneers.
Sequim broke open a tied game with a five-run sixth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double by Christy Grubb and Katelyn Glass’ two-run single.
The Wolves (3-2, 7-2) visit league-leading Olympic (4-0, 7-0) today.

Track and field
East Jefferson at Nisqually League meet
KLAHOWYA — Thanks to strong showings by Max Allworth-Miles and Tusker Behrenfeld, the East Jefferson boys track and field team finished second at a Nisqually League meet held Tuesday at Klahowya High School.
The boys tallied 111 points to Charles Wright’s 152. There were six teams at the meet.
The girls, meanwhile, finished fourth with 91 points. Klahowya won the girls’ meet with 101 points.
Allworth-Miles and Behrenfeld each won two events.
Allworth-Miles won the 400-meter run in a time of 55.64 seconds. He also took first in the 3,200 meters in a time of 10:36.57. Both of his times were personal records.
Behrenfeld won the discus with a throw of 117 feet, 5¾ inches, taking first place by a whopping 16 feet. He also won the javelin with a personal-record 163-2 throw, which is the second-best javelin distance among 1A competitors in the entire state so far this spring. East Jefferson’s Reid Martin took second place in the javelin at 118-7, nearly 45 feet behind Behrenfeld’s throw.
In other events, East Jefferson track athletes had good showings:
Shot put, Anson Jones, second, 41-8½; Behrenfeld, third, 37-8.
Triple jump — Connor Paterson, second, 32-1½.
200 meters — Alex Harvey, third, 25.96.
Discus — Toby Fulton, 93-5½, third.
In the girls events, East Jefferson won in the javelin again as Ellise Gardner came in first with a throw of 85-5. Her teammate Paige Govia was second at 48-0.
Gardner’s throw was the girls’ only win on the day, but East Jefferson had a number of second-place finishes.
Tadu Dollarhide was second in the 3,200 (13:54.69), Ava Vaughan-Mifsud second in the discus (79-11½) and Aurin Asbell second in the long jump (14-11½). The Rivals’ 4×100 relay team (Addy Asbell, Stephanie Sanchez, Audrey Matthes and Aurin Asbell) came in second with a time of 54.97, getting nipped at the end by a Bellevue Christian team by only 0.12 seconds.
Third-place finishes for the girls include:
100 meters — Aurin Asbell, 14.05.
800 meters — Melody Douglas, 2:58.9.
Shot put — Addy Asbell, 25.2.
East Jefferson’s next meet is at the Li’l Norway Invitational on Saturday in Poulsbo.
