PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles had a tough time against Olympic League girls tennis powerhouse Bainbridge, falling in all seven contested matches Wednesday at Port Angeles High School.
The Roughriders’ No. 4 doubles duo of Audrey Rudd and Hannah Hairell wouldn’t go down without a fight against the unbeaten Spartans (7-0), falling in a first-set tiebreaker before bowing out.
Port Angeles (3-7) hosts Kingston on Monday.

Boys Golf Sequim 187, Bremerton 191
BREMERTON — Adrian Aragon’s nine-hole round of 44 led the Wolves to a win at Gold Mountain Golf Club on Wednesday.
Joey Kang shot a 46, while Cody Dunscomb added a 48 and Lars Wiker posted a 49.
“It was a good win for us on a course that many of our guys have never played before,” said coach Greg Glasser.
Sequim will golf at Port Angeles’ Duke Streeter Invite on Tuesday.
Girls Golf Sequim 187, Bremerton 273
BREMERTON — The Wolves went low to beat the Knights on Wednesday at Gold Mountain.
“The girls did great with three of the girls shooting their personal best,” coach Tim Lusk said. “Kendra Dodson took medalist honors with a round of 45, Sara German shot a 47 and Raimey Brewer’s 50 were all personal bests.”
Ava Johnson (48), Taryn Johnson (49) and Emily Post (50) rounded out the Wolves’ scores.
Track & Field East Jefferson second
COUPEVILLE — Fast freshmen led the Rivals’ girls to a second-place finish at the six-team Coupeville Classic Invite on Wednesday.
The host Wolves outpointed East Jefferson 184-106, with Crescent fourth with 74 points.
Ninth-grader Carina Shiflett was one of three East Jefferson athletes to win four events, taking the 100-meter sprint in 13.69 seconds.
Freshman Arden Moore won two events, setting a personal-best time in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.35 seconds and the 200 sprint in 28.36 to edge Shiflett’s own personal-record time of 30.02.
Moore’s classmate Kaida Rodrigues set a new best time of 53.3 seconds to win the 300 hurdles.
Moore, Shiflett and fellow freshman Clara Camp teamed with sophomore Sienna Emerson for a win in the 4×100 relay (53.22).
Sprague was one of two event winners for Crescent as the sophomore won the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet, 5 inches, while eighth-grader Darica Bertelson cleared 4-6 to win the high jump.
Coupeville also claimed the boys half of the meet, compiling 166.5 points while East Jefferson was second with 119, Clallam Bay fifth with 31 and Crescent sixth with four points.
East Jefferson senior Henri Huber was a dual-event winner, setting personal records in the long jump (19-4½) and triple jump (38-4½).
The Rivals won the long and short distances as Jasper Dances was first in the 100 in 12.27, with Soare Johnston (4:49.54 in the 1,600) and Indigo Gould (10:54.27 in the 3,200).
Bryce Harbin also took first in the javelin (117-4), while John Mercado set a personal-record time of 50.52 in the 300 hurdles.
