PREP GOLF: Chimacum tops North Mason in season-opening match

ALLYN — Chimacum opened the prep golf season with a six-stroke victory over North Mason in a nine-hole match played under sunny skies at Lakeland Village Golf Course on Friday.

The Cowboys were led by Logan Storm’s 11-over-par round of 46. Aidan Hartnett shot a 51, Joseph Kithcart fired a 58, and Nate Miller a 64 as Chimacum’s top four totaled 219 strokes.

Gabe Van Camp shot a 66 and Cooper Bartl notched a 68 to round out the Cowboys varsity.

Lacey Bishop and Delana Horner made their girls golf debut for Chimacum.

Bishop shot a 69 and Horner posted a 72.

“I am so proud of the girls team,”Cowboys coach Darren Posey said.

“Lacey Bishop and Delana Horner completed their first nine-hole rounds today. They had fun and a great time. I am so happy that they are out playing and enjoying the game.”

Chimacum will play Klahowya at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton on Thursday.
