BREMERTON — Port Angeles stymied Olympic offensively, limiting the Trojans from the floor in a 53-18 Olympic League girls basketball win Tuesday night.
“Our defense consistently produced turnovers and less-than-ideal shots by the Trojans, who shot just 11 percent from the field,” coach Michael Poindeter said.
”Offensively, we moved the ball better against Olympic’s 1-3-1 zone defense as the night went on. We didn’t have our best shooting night [37 percent], but 17 offensive rebounds helped us get more opportunities to score.”
Anna Petty led the Riders (3-0, 3-2) with 17 points and tied with Izzy Felton and Lindsay Smith for the team high in steals with four apiece.
Lexie Smith outrebounded younger sister Lindsay Smith eight to seven to lead the Riders.
The Riders, unbeaten in Olympic League play (3-0, 3-2), visit Bainbridge (2-1, 2-3) tonight.
