PREP FOOTBALL UPDATE: Port Townsend runs past Port Angeles

Senior QB Berkley Hill scores 4 TDs, throws for another

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend senior quarterback Berkley Hill is making the most out of his final football season in red and black.

Hill rushed 30 times for 153 yards and four running touchdowns and threw for another score as the Redhawks rolled to a 35-0 shutout victory against Port Angeles on Thursday night at Memorial Field.

Port Townsend ran up all 35 points in the first half of the nonleague contest.

Hill scored on rushing plays of 21, 1, 22 and 2-yards.

He also threw a 9-yard pass to Detrius Kelsall.

Hill completed 4 of 9 passes for 64 yards and an interception.

The Roughriders stopped two Redhawks’ drives in the second half.

Port Angeles’ best chance to score its first points of the season was foiled inside the Port Townsend 5-yard line early in the fourth quarter.

Port Townsend (1-1) visits Class 1A No. 3 Mount Baker in Deming next Friday.

Port Angeles (0-2) hosts No. 10 North Kitsap at Civic Field at 7 p.m. next Friday.
