SEQUIM — Sequim fans finally got a chance to watch their football squad at home this season, and the Wolves responded by firing on all cylinders for 3½ quarters in a 49-30 romp over visiting Elma.
The final score didn’t indicated how lopsided the game actually was. Sequim got up 49-14 halfway through the fourth quarter and allowed 16 late points after the game was beyond doubt.
The Wolves had great balance with 199 yards through the air and 173 on the ground. Quarterback Kaden Miller was almost perfect, throwing 11-for-12 (91.7 percent) with three touchdown passes and no interceptions.
Miller had a pair of 30-yard touchdown passes to Zeke Schmadeke on back-to-back drives in the second quarter. Both of those passes were perfect. One was arced just over Elma’s defensive backs as Schmadeke got behind the defense in the end zone and on the second one, Miller just sneaked the ball past a diving cornerback as Schmadeke hauled in the pass and scampered down the sideline.
Liam Wiker also had a pair of touchdown runs of 7 and 14 yards. He also had a nice 41-yard catch and run on a screen pass up the middle. Andrew Keeler also had a 17-yard touchdown catch and added a 26-yard catch.
Wiker finished with 93 yards on 14 carries, while Schmadeke had 48 yards rushing on five carries and 61 yards receiving on three catches.
Malachi Hampton had four catches for 51 yards and a 4-yard touchdown run.
The unbeaten Wolves played a near-perfect game with zero turnovers.
Sequim (0-0, 3-0) goes back on the road for its first Olympic League game of the year, at Rainshadow Rumble rival Port Angeles (0-1, 1-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at Civic Field.

North Mason 48, Port Angeles 14
BELFAIR — Port Angeles struggled with North Mason’s size and strength and hurt itself with penalties in a 48-14 Olympic League football loss to the Bulldogs at Phil Pugh Stadium on Saturday.
The game was moved from Friday night due to hazardous air quality in Belfair caused by the nearby Bear Gulch fire, which blew up late last week.
The Roughriders (0-1, 1-2) couldn’t muster much offensively in the first half — a 30-yard catch-and-run from Carson Waddle to Jude Wallace one of the only real highlights of a first half that ended with Port Angeles trailing 28-0.
Cade Atencio’s tough running was much of the problem for the Riders. The 6-1, 205-pound senior rattled off touchdown runs of 11, 8 and 65-yards in the first half and took the first play of scrimmage of the second half to the house from 70 yards.
North Mason added a 42-yard TD reception to trigger the running clock with 9:52 left in the third quarter.
Port Angeles completed a 40-yard flea flicker from all-league offensive lineman Hunter Flores to Tucker Swain to set up a 14-yard touchdown connection from Carson Waddle to Jude Wallace.
Waddle rolled to his left and found Wallace crossing the end zone to the left corner for the score with 3:51 in the third quarter.
Dylan Mann added a 2-yard TD plunge after some tough running in the fourth quarter.
Friday’s game against Sequim doubles as homecoming for Port Angeles.
