PORT TOWNSEND — The East Jefferson Rivals football team has been improving all year and the work paid off with a season-ending 55-0 victory over the Vashon Pirates on Friday night.
East Jefferson got an incredible game from Luke O’Hara and Jackson Dupuy.
O’Hara had 201 yards rushing on 12 carries with four touchdown runs. He also threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Deken Lorenzen, had a 12-yard catch and a 30-yard kick return. In all, he helped account for five touchdowns and 324 yards all-purpose yards.
“That was his coming out party offensively,” said coach Tony Haddenham. “He was a load.”
Dupuy, meanwhile, had nine rushes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
The Rivals finished with 555 yards rushing and 662 yards of total offense. James Henery ran three times for 51 yards and Alex Garcia had six rushes for 85 yards. Dawson Reid was 3-for-4 passing for 27 yards.
And, as usual, Tyler Martin led the team in tackles with 12.
Haddenham said the game showed his players’ resilience, who stuck it out this season after some tough losses, especially early in the year.
“Just being able to put things behind us and looking forward to next year,” he said. “There’s definitely some work to be done, but it’s a huge momentum builder for next year.”
East Jefferson finished its season with a record of 1-8.

PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Trojans football team won a piece of the Olympic League championship with a 48-6 win over the Port Angeles Roughriders.
It was the conclusion of a rough season for the young Riders, who went 0-9. Port Angeles graduated 14 starting seniors from its state playoff 2023 team and was never able to get on track for a victory in 2024.
Head coach Dustin Clark said he and his players care about wins, but there’s more to the game than wins.
“For us, it’s about the family that we built,” Clark said. “It’s about turning these guys from boys to young men. The character of those guys is amazing.”
Clark said that he’s looking forward to next year and the players coming back, most of the roster, in fact. “I’m already getting excited about getting them back in the weight room.”
Olympic got up 48-0 at the half then played reserves in the second half.
Port Angeles got its touchdown in the fourth quarter thanks to two big runs. Brayden Wopperer had a 35-yard run to put the Riders on the 20, and Ricky Peterson finished off the drive with a 20-yard run. Peterson had a touchdown in Port Angeles’ first game of the year and one in the last game of the year.
Peterson led the team with 43 yards rushing on six carries. Easton Fisher had one catch for 28 yards and Oliver Martinez another catch for 10 yards.
