PREP FOOTBALL: Port Angeles eliminated by Kingston after Roughriders knock out Sequim in three-team tiebreaker

BREMERTON — Port Angeles threw a late interception and allowed Kingston quarterback Jack Colletto to score a 5-yard rushing touchdown in the final minute of the second game of a three-team tiebreaker also involving Sequim.

The loss ended the season for the Roughriders (4-5).

The late interception gave the Buccaneers the ball at the Port Angeles 29-yard line with 1:04 to play.

The Riders had survived the first game of the three-team tiebreaker with a 6-0 victory over the Wolves Tuesday night at Silverdale Stadium.

Senior Nathan Angevine scored the 16-minute game’s lone touchdown, a 1-yard plunge with 4:14 to play.

Port Angeles picked off Sequim quarterback Miguel Moroles twice in the game.

Sequim (4-5) was eliminated from postseason contention with the loss.

Port Angeles freshman Elyse Brown competes in the Roughriders' Olympic League home gymnastics meet at the Klahhane Gymnastics Center in Port Angeles on Monday.
