PREP FOOTBALL: Neah Bay fires on all cylinders in 58-0 win

NEAH BAY — After getting off to a slow start this season with a lot of newcomers, the Neah Bay Red Devils had their biggest football win of the year this weekend with a 58-0 romp over Taholah.

Leroy Greene scored two touchdowns for the Red Devils in Saturday’s game on runs of 39 and 2 yards. He also scored a safety on defense by making a tackle in the end zone.

Neah Bay’s Isaiah Knaus also had touchdown runs of nine yards and 20 yards and threw a 25-yard pass to Levi Swan for a TD. Swan also had a 29-yard touchdown catch from Josey Tyree.

Toby Croy also returned a kickoff 55 yards for a TD and had a 26-yard touchdown run.

The Red Devils finished with 273 yards rushing. Knaus led the team with 95 yards on 18 carries, while Tyree had 62 yards on 10 carries, Croy 57 yards on nine carries and Leroy Green 47 yards on four carries. Neah Bay also had 73 yards passing for 346 total yards.

Neah Bay’s defense kept Taholah to just 77 total yards. Alan Tyler led the team with six tackles while Tyree and Billy Parkin III each had four tackles. Jay Brunk had an interception while Sam Conda recovered a fumble. Mateo Garcia, Joseph Yallup and Tuler all had quarterback sacks.

After starting the season 0-3, The Red Devils have won two out of their past three games to get to 2-4 (1-0 in the North Olympic 1B League).

Neah Bay next plays at Tulalip Heritage at 5 p.m. Friday.
