PREP BASKETBALL: Three Olympic Peninsula girls picked for all-state teams

SEATTLE — A trio of Olympic Peninsula senior girls basketball players were selected last week to play in the 1B, 2B and 2A all-state basketball games to be held Sunday in Seattle.

Named to the all-state teams are Izzy Felton of Port Angeles for the 2A game, Keira Johnson of Forks for the 2B game and Ryana Moss of Neah Bay for the 1B game.

Johnson was recently named the MVP of the Pacific 2B League and broke the Forks record for most points scored in girls basketball. She helped lead her team to a 10-0 record in league. Moss just led her Neah Bay team to its second straight state championship.

The 2A game will be coached by WF West coach Kyle Karnofski. 2A Coach Kyle Karnofski WF West, the 2B team by Brandon Eygabroad of Rainier and the 1B team by Jenny Kuske of Crosspoint.

Also on the 1B team is Allie Heino, a star post for Mount Vernon Christian who led her team to the state championship game. Neah Bay won that game 39-28 and was able to hold Heino to seven points, well below her season average.

Some of the girls may not play due to scheduling conflicts and spring sports.

The all-state games will be held at King’s High School in Seattle with 1B playing 2B, 1A playing 2A and 3A playing 4A teams. The 1B-2B game featuring Moss and Johnson will be held at 2B, while the 1A-2A game will be held at 2 p.m. The games can be viewed on Turk Pride TV on Youtube.com.
