POULSBO — Bremerton and Sequim produced another thrilling boys basketball contest, the second in three days, with the Knights taking down the Wolves 77-67 in a tiebreaker at North Kitsap High School on Wednesday.
Sequim (16-3) rallied for a 66-61 victory at home Monday to carve out a share of the Olympic League boys basketball title with Bremerton (15-5) — and the two best Olympic League teams met again to decide the top seed to the Class 2A West Central District 3 boys basketball tournament.
Each team showed plenty offensively, with the Wolves hitting 25 of 50 shots from the field and 8 of 12 from the free-throw line. Bremerton managed to hit 29 of 52 shots and 10 of 12 freebies on the night.
Jalen Davis led all scorers, hitting for 32 points for the Knights.
Davis, the son of Bremerton head coach Miah Davis, announced he had received a scholarship offer to attend Washington State after the game. The Cougars’ offer joined recent opportunities from Stanford and Montana.
“My first thought is ‘Jalen Davis is good,’ ” Wolves coach Craig Brooks said. “We need to be more consistent defensively. Frank [Allen] hurt us on the glass in the fourth quarter. We scored more than the game we won against Bremerton.”
Solomon Sheppard led Sequim with 29 points, including five 3-point baskets. Jericho Julmist added 14 and Ethan Melnick had 10 for the Wolves.
“It was good to see Solomon Sheppard score well,” Brooks said. “His shot gets better the more he dives on the floor. Ethan Melnik also had 10 in the first half. Jayden [Turner] for Bremerton was a difference maker.”
Brooks said the Wolves expect to see the Knights in the district finals.
“We are excited to play them again on the 22nd,” Brooks said.

District tournament
Sequim earned the No. 3 overall seed into the district tournament and will host a winner-to-state game at 6 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of Saturday’s game between No. 11 seed Foss and No. 6 North Mason.
Seven Olympic League teams made the district tournament, including Port Angeles (9-12), which did enough in the final weeks of the season to earn a No. 9 seed. The Roughriders will visit No. 8-seeded Fife (9-11) in a loser-out contest at 5 p.m. Saturday.
PA girls home playoff
Port Angeles’ second-place finish in the Olympic League produced a No. 3 seed to the district tournament and a first-round bye.
The Roughriders (11-3, 14-6) will host a winner-to-state contest at 6 p.m. Tuesday against the winner of Saturday’s Orting at North Mason contest.
Rainier 52, Forks 30
ROCHESTER — The Spartans were held to their lowest point total of the season in a Class 2B Southwest District IV boys basketball tournament game at Rochester High School on Wednesday.
Forks will play Pacific League foe Chief Leschi tonight at Rochester High School at 6 p.m. in a loser-out contest.
Rainier’s Meldrum triplets, Jake, James and Josh, were tough for the Spartans to handle. Jake Meldrum had 19, Josh Meldrum added 11 and James Meldrum had six.
Forks was held to a four-point fourth quarter as the Mountaineers closed out the game late.
Titus Rowley led Forks (17-3) with nine points and Bubba Hernandez-Stansbury had eight.
