SEQUIM — Sequim started and finished strongly in a 57-41 Olympic League boys basketball victory over Olympic on Monday.
Isaiah Moore led the way with 21 points for the Wolves (2-4, 3-7).
Four Sequim players knocked down seven 3-point attempts, with Keenan Green connecting on three and scoring 10 points. Zach Thompson also hit a pair from outside while Kristian Mingoy and Pryce Glasser also connected from long range.
“I thought our bigs played well and were able to find each other and our shooters on the perimeter,” Wolves coach Greg Glasser said.
The win was the first for the Wolves since a Dec. 16 triumph over North Mason.
Sequim hosts WIAA RPI Class 2A No. 2 North Kitsap on Thursday.

Girls Basketball Sequim 43, Bellevue 35
BELLEVUE — The Wolves didn’t shoot well at all but were disruptive enough defensively to earn a win over the Class 3A Bellevue Wolverines on Monday.
“It was a tough game and our girls didn’t back down,” Sequim coach Joclin Julmist said. “We have been struggling with our shooting lately but our defense has kept us in most games.”
The Wolves connected on 15 of 59 shots from the floor (25 percent).
Hannah Bates posted a double-double, leading Sequim in scoring with 12 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing five assists.
Jolene Vaara added six points and 11 rebounds.
“Hannah and Jolene normally have to guard the best players on the opposing team and so far they have done a good job setting the tempo for the rest of the team,” Julmist said. “They lead by example.”
Jelissa Julmist added a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
“She was tough tonight on the boards,” Julmist said.
Reserves Sammie Bacon (four points, three rebounds), and Michaela Green, Jordan Kidd and Libby Turella all scored three points apiece.
First-place Sequim (8-0, 10-2) is scheduled to visit North Kitsap (3-1, 6-2) on Thursday.

FORKS — The Spartans clamped down defensively in the second quarter to open up a huge halftime lead in a big Pacific League win over the Warriors.
“It was pretty high energy throughout and especially after the first quarter we felt it was going to be an up-and-down game,” Forks coach David Hurn said. “They like to pick you up for full-court pressure. But we cracked down defensively and caused chaos in our press and in the halfcourt.”
Keira Johnson led Forks with 30 points, 17 coming in the second quarter. Kadie Wood added 18, with eight of her total coming in the second quarter.
“We were able to drive and penetrate and hit some outside shots,” Hurn said. “We hit five 3s in the second quarter.”
Candida Rose Sandoval posted 12 points for the Spartans.
“She played so well for us tonight,” Hurn said. “She deserves a lot of credit. She really led the charge up front on our press and was aggressive on offense. It was the best game of her career.”
