PREP BASKETBALL: Neah Bay boys, girls sweep Taholah

NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay basketball boys continued their hot streak with their 12th straight win, beating Taholah 84-53.

The Red Devil girls also won Monday, beating Taholah 82-43.

The boys had a balanced approach as usual with six kids scoring eight or more points. The Red Devils were led by Cameron Moore with 19 and Rwehabura Munyagi with 16. Cole Svec scored 12, while Kenrick Doherty had 11 and Anthony Bitegeko and Philip Greene each chipped in eight.

Neah Bay tends to start fast, but this game didn’t fit that pattern. The game was relatively close early, tied 14-14 in the first quarter, but the Red Devils blew the game open in the third quarter with 31 points in eight minutes.

The Neah Bay boys, No. 7 in the WIAA’s RPI ranking on Monday, jumped all the way up to No. 2 after Monday’s win.
