Most local games postponed to Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — Snow continues to wreak havoc with area basketball playoffs as games that were already postponed once were postponed again on Monday.

The Crescent boys and Clallam Bay girls were set to play Monday in the Tri-District 1B Tournament in Joyce on Monday, but those games were postponed due to the snowstorm, which came on top of a major snowstorm Friday and Saturday morning.

A Quilcene girls game at Grace Academy was also postponed.

The Crescent and Clallam Bay games have been moved to Wednesday.

For now, Crescent is set to play Lopez at 2:30 p.m., while Clallam Bay is set to play Rainier Christian at 4:15 p.m. in Joyce.

That possibly affects Neah Bay Tri-District games that were originally set to be played in Port Angeles today.

A Forks boys’ playoff game in Hoquiam versus King’s Way Christian has been postponed to 7:30 p.m. today.

Meanwhile, West Central District III 2A Tournament games scheduled tonight in Port Angeles were postponed to Wednesday.

The Port Angeles boys and girls, who have been waiting a week to play their playoff games, will finally get on the court on Wednesday.

The Olympic League 2A Division champion Port Angeles girls will host Franklin Pierce at 5 p.m., while the boys will host Fife at 7 p.m. These games were originally scheduled for last Thursday.

It’s possible the Port Angeles boys and girls’ teams and the Sequim girls’ team would have to play four games in four days in the West Central District III 2A Tournament. The Wolves are set to play at White River at 5 p.m. Wednesday. If any of these teams lose and end up in the consolation bracket, they would have to play Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Sequim boys, who are in a consolation bracket, may have to play three games in three days, with a game scheduled Thursday against the loser of the Port Angeles/Fife game.

A Chimacum girls West Central District III 1A game today at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma against Annie Wright has been moved to 6 p.m. Thursday. As of press deadline, a Port Townsend girls’ game at home at 6 p.m. today against Seattle Christian was still set.
