JOYCE — Crescent notched its 13th straight win Wednesday, knocking off the Port Angeles C squad 53-31 at home.
“We had an opportunity to play a lot of guys and get a little bit better tonight,” Loggers coach Chris Ferrier said. “Our guys played really unselfish, we had to scuffle for a couple things, the Port Angeles kids really battled us hard and the future is really solid for their guys. It was a good game for us.”
Lukas Love led the Loggers with 19 points, while Henry Bourm added 12.
Crescent (13-1) hosts Clallam Bay on Wednesday in the North Olympic League opener.

JOYCE — The Loggers overcame a third-quarter letdown with a strong defensive fourth quarter to wrest the win away from the Roughrider JV.
Port Angeles had possession with a chance to tie or take the lead with 15 seconds left, but Crescent forced a turnover and managed to dribble out the clock.
“We got a little tired in the third,” Crescent coach Brian Shimko said of his seven-player squad. “We had some timeouts that we used to give them some rest and I told them I know you are tired but we have to stop defending flat footed and we have to rebound everything in the fourth and we did.”
“Chloe Ferro-May had 16 rebounds, five offensive and Audrey had nine rebounds, five offensive, with seven assists and five blocked shots, so defensively those two really stepped up.”
Cierra Cargo-Acosta led the team with 15 points, including three 3-pointers.
“Cierra came out in the fourth and played really, really good defense,” Shimko said.
Crescent (1-0, 9-3) visits Sound Christian tonight.

OCEAN SHORES — The Spartans were able to focus on fine tuning one of their zone defenses in a big win over the Hyaks.
“We wanted to work on things, including our 2-3 zone, so we put an emphasis on our zone and put a focus on details and finding a way to get better,” coach David Hurn said.
Keira Johnson led Forks with 22 points, Bailey Johnson added 12 and Brynn Daniels scored eight.
“It was the first significant minutes of the year for Brynn,” Hurn said. “She’s a senior and it’s great for her to be out there and awesome to see her score some points. We are going to need her this season.”
Forks (6-0, 12-3) is up to No. 9 in the Class 2B RPI and hosts No. 15 Ilwaco (3-2, 7-4) on Wednesday.
