PORT TOWNSEND — The Clallam Bay girls basketball team picked up a nonleague win over a Class 1A opponent, beating Port Townsend 53-29.
Leading the Bruins were Hannah Olson with 14 points and five steals, and Cedar Johnson with 11 points.
Jada Clemmons added eight points and five rebounds, while Miriam Wonderly had six points and six rebounds.
Savanna Hoffmann led the Redhawks with 10 points, while Gina Brown had eight points and Izzy Hammett six.
“We played all right, but we finished the game strong,” said Clallam Bay coach Michael Maines.
Clallam Bay (2-1, 7-5) returns to North Olympic 1B League play with a game at Neah Bay (3-0, 10-2) at 5:45 p.m. today.
Port Townsend (0-3, 1-10) played Klahowya on Tuesday after press deadline. The Redhawks will next play at Bear Creek on Friday.

CHIMACUM — Three Cowboys scored in double digits as Chimacum earned its first win of the season at home Monday.
Cowboys coach Mark Bennett said his team “took the lid off the bucket,” with the win, which snapped a 24-game losing skid dating back to Feb. 4, 2017.
Issac Purser led the way 19 points, Henry Brebberman added 18 and Jacob Williamson had 14 points for the Cowboys.
“It’s definitely our highest scoring game of the season,” Bennett said. “Both Henry and Issac were on from outside and Jacob Williamson was rebounding well down low, so that led to his scoring.
“And the team played well. We had a total of 15 assists offensively. Henry Led that charge with five and Issac had four, so besides those two scoring well, they were distributors.”
Bennett also said Chimacum limited its own turnovers, finishing with fewer than 10.
The Cowboys (0-4, 1-10) visit Summit Olympus (Tacoma) today.
