PREP BASEBALL: Rivals get solid pitching, but lose to Cascade Christian

CHIMACUM — The East Jefferson baseball team got an outstanding performance this weekend from Brody Moore and Peter Giddens, but could only manage one hit in a 2-0 pitchers’ duel loss to Cascade Christian.

Moore and Giddens combined to allow just five hits while striking out 13. Moore started, going five innings and allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out 11. Giddens pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.

Giddens also had East Jefferson’s lone hit, a double.

East Jefferson (0-3, 0-3) was scheduled to play Bellevue Christian on Monday after press deadline. The Rivals next play at Vashon at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
