SEQUIM — The Port Angeles baseball team got big games from Nate Basden and Alex Angevine and was able to beat Sequim for the second time in a week in another hard-fought game 7-4 in Sequim.
Basden went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base while Angevine was 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base.
On the mound, the Roughriders used a total of five pitchers, saving their best pitchers Colton Romero and Brian Guttormsen. The quintet of Brayden Martin, Hunter Stratford, Maeson Grice, Angevine and Rylan Politika struck out nine and allowed six hits.
For Sequim, Zeke Schmadeke pitched most of the game, going 4⅓ innings and allowing six hits and three earned runs. He struck out five. Brayden White went 2⅔ innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking our four.
At the plate, Bryant Laboy had a double, an RBI and a stolen base for the Wolves as he went 2-for-4 at the plate. White hit a triple, scored a run and drove one in while also walking. Ethan Staples had a hit, a run scored and an RBI. Schmadeke walked five straight times, scoring one run and stealing a base.
Romero also had a hit, an RBI sac fly and a walk, driving in a total of three runs for the Riders. Jordan Shumway was 2-for-4 with a stolen base for Port Angeles.
Much like a game Tuesday night in which Port Angeles won 5-2, Sequim did have its chances. The Wolves loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning down 7-3 with only one out but managed to only push one run across as Hunter Stratford came in to get White to fly out to end the game.
Port Angeles played Bellevue on Saturday while Sequim played Ingraham. Look for updates on those games Sunday.
Port Angeles (6-2, 10-3) returns to Olympic League play at North Mason (3-5, 4-6) at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. Sequim (2-6, 4-6) hosts Crosspoint at 4:15 p.m. Monday.

OCOSTA — The Forks baseball team scored 33 runs and stole 30 bases in a doubleheader sweep over Ocosta.
The Spartans won 17-3 and 16-4 on the road Friday.
In the afternoon game, Aidan Salazar was 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs scored and two RBIs. Gunner Rogers was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases while Dylan Micheau was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI a walk and two stolen bases. Bubba Hernandez as 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two batted in, two walks and a stolen base.
Salazar pitched five innings in the win, allowing four hits and striking out six. Rogers struck out three in one inning of work.
In the evening game, the scored was tied 4-4 after one inning, but pitcher Landen Olson shut down Ocosta for the rest of the game after a rough first. He pitched the whole five innings, allowing six hits and striking out six.
Salazar stole a total of seven bases on the day. He had a hit, a walk, three runs scored and three stolen bases in Game Two.
Micheau was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. He scored a run and stole two bases. Hernandez had a double, three runs scored, three stolen bases and a walk.
Forks (5-1, 9-2) played Coupeville on Saturday and next hosts Hoquiam for a nonleague doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at Fred Orr Park on Thursday.

CHIMACUM — The East Jefferson baseball team got an outsanding pitching performance against from Brody Moore, but could only push across a lone run in a 2-1 loss to Seattle Christian.
A second game Friday was knotted up at 5-5 when it was suspended due to darkness in the fourth inning. The game will resume at 4 p.m. Monday in SeaTac.
In the early game, Moore went five innings, allowed just three hits and one earned run and struck out 10. Evan Kraft pitched an inning and struck out one.
At the plate, James Lattier and Rylen Dunn were both 2-for-3, while Peter Giddens had a hit and a run scored and Kraft a hit.
In the second game, Kraft had a hit and two RBIs, while Lattier had a hit and two runs scored. Moore had a hit and a run scored.
