PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles baseball team got a 4-hitter from the duo of Ethan Flodstrom and Timmy Adams to beat North Mason 7-2, remaining unbeaten and all alone in first place in Olympic League 2A Division play.
Flodstrom went three innings, giving up two hits and no earned runs while walking two and striking out four. Adams went the final four innings, giving up two hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out two.
Bo Bradow, Hayden Woods and Gavin Guerrero did much of the damage at the plate, as the Roughriders got up 6-0 after two innings then cruised the rest of the way.
Bradow went 3 for 4 with a run and two RBIs, Guerrero was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Woods was 2 for 2 with a double.
Flodstrom also had a double, a run scored and two RBIs.
And as usual, the Riders did a good job of getting on base without the benefit of a hit. Five different Roughriders were hit by pitches to help clog up the basepaths. Wyatt Hall had two RBIs without a hit. He had a sacrifice fly and drove in another run when he was hit by a pitch while the bases were loaded.
The win leaves Port Angeles at 7-0 in league (10-3 overall), one game ahead of second-place North Kitsap. The Riders played Tuesday on the road against 3A Juanita. They will return to action with a Rainshadow Rumble rivalry game at third-place Sequim (4-3, 8-5) at 4:15 p.m. Friday.

North Kitsap 2, Sequim 1
SEQUIM — The Wolves got into a tight pitchers’ battle with North Kitsap, with Logan Chmielewski and Tucker Gowin outdueling Sequim’s duo of Michael Young and Joey Oliver in a 2-1 loss for Sequim.
The Wolves could’ve ended up tied for second place in the Olympic League 2A Division with a win Monday.
Young and Oliver did everything they could to help Sequim win, pitching a jewel of a game. Young went six innings, giving up just six hits and two runs, one of them unearned. He walked four and struck out three. Oliver pitched the seventh, giving up a hit and no runs.
Chmielewski and Gowin combined to limit the Wolves offensively, giving up just three hits.
The Vikings got on the board first with a run in the second inning. Sequim responded with a run in the fourth. Michael Grubb began the inning with a double and advanced to third on a groundout. Silas Thomas drove in Grubb with a sacrifice fly.
The game remain tied 1-1 until the sixth inning, when the Vikings scored in the top of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.
The Wolves did have their chances in the sixth and seventh innings, but couldn’t break through for a score.
Sequim threatened in the bottom of the sixth when Oliver and Grubb both got on base with singles. But a double play groundout ended that threat. The Wolves made the Vikings nervous in the bottom of the seventh when North Kitsap made back-to-back errors, allowing Thomas and Caleb Pozernick to both get on base. But with the tying and winning runs on base, Gowin got the next two batters to strike out to end the game.
Grubb finished the game 2 for 3 with a double and run scored.
Sequim (4-3, 8-5) next plays at North Mason (3-4, 6-7) today in an important game to remain in third place. The Wolves then host Port Angeles at 4:15 p.m. Friday.

CHIMACUM — Chimacum got outstanding pitching performances from Issac Purser and Cole Dotson and did enough damage at the plate to get by 2A Kingston 4-1.
Purser went 3 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run on three hits, while striking out eight and walking none. Dotson pitched 3 2/3 innings, giving up two hits, no walks and no runs. He struck out four.
The Cowboys only banged out five hits, but they were able to score three runs in the first inning and that turned out to be enough. They used their baserunning to cause problems for the Buccaneers, swiping a total of seven bases.
Dotson had a double, a run scored and two stolen bases. Purser went 1-3 with a walk, a run scored, a walk and two stolen bases, while Henry Brebberman went 1-3 with an RBI and a stolen base. Arron Serrato was 1-2 with a stolen base and run scored.
Chimacum (1-1, 5-8) has an important Olympic League 1A Division game today at Klahowya (2-0, 5-4). The first-place Eagles beat the Cowboys 3-2 on March 27.
