PREP BASEBALL: Port Angeles’ Guttormsen, Sequim’s Holland to play in All-State Baseball game

SEQUIM — A pair of Olympic Peninsula high school seniors were selected to play in Washington All-State games on June 22-23.

Port Angeles pitcher Brian Guttormsen and Sequim infielder/catcher Ayden Holland were selected to play in the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association all-state games.

Holland, commited to play for Everett Community College, hit .300 for the Wolves this year with 15 RBIs and six stolen bases. He played catcher, first base and third base. Coach Dave Ditlefsen will probably play catcher at state. He was selected for Team St. Helens, coached by WSBCA Hall of Fame coach Jim Holmon of Asotin.

Holland, a second-team all-Olympic player, hit .300 with 15 RBIs and six stolen bases.

Guttormsen, a first-team all-Olympic player, was 3-0 for the Riders with a 1.98 ERA and 38 strikeouts. He will pitcher for Team Rainier coached by Matt Brennan of Stanwood.

The games will be streamed on the NFHS Network (nfhsnetwork.com).
