PREP BASEBALL: Lott, Sequim walk all over Port Townsend; other area baseball reports

PORT TOWNSEND — Dylan Lott reached base after all five of his plate appearances to lead Sequim to an easy 16-2 win over Port Townsend.

Lott hit three doubles and three RBIs, walked and was hit by a pitch in his at bats. He also stole a base.

Also for the Wolves, Chris Whitaker was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Brady Vig knocked in two batters in his lone at bat and Ian Dennis went 2 for 3.

Redskins pitchers James Delagarza (6 walks), Sean Dwyer (5) and Mat Cain (1) combined to walk 12 Wolves.

Sequim starting pitcher Daniel Harker allowed five hits and two runs in his five innings of work, striking out five to pick up the win.

Thursday’s win was Dave Ditlefsen’s 100th as Sequim’s baseball coach.

SILVERDALE — The Eagles slipped past the Roughriders after scoring on a sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning.

“We had the bases loaded in the fourth inning of a 0-0 game and couldn’t score anybody,” Port Angeles coach Vic Reykdal said.

Solid outing on mound

Adam Iseri-Fuji made the start on the mound for the Riders and went five innings, giving up two hits, two runs and a walk.

“He shut them down pretty well and really did a great job out there,” Reykdal said.

Eathen Boyer went 2 for 3 with two doubles and a run to lead Port Angeles at the plate.

The Riders scored their first run on a fifth-inning sacrifice fly by Logan Ciaciuch that plated Austin Roberson.

Zach Withrow scored Boyer on a squeeze bunt in the top of the seventh to briefly tie the game.

BEAVER — The Spartans dropped a doubleheader to Evergreen 1A League-leading Grizzlies, falling 3-0 and 8-0.

Javier Contreras went the distance for the Spartans in game one, allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts and one walk.

Contreras also led the sparse Spartans offense, going 2 for 3 in the game. Reis Lawson and Billy Palmer added one hit apiece.

“Javier gave us a great chance to win the ballgame holding them to three unearned runs,” Forks coach Wayne Daman said.

“We failed to execute offensively when we were given the chances.”

Lefty Nate Gimlin got the start on the bump for the Spartans in the second game, but allowed three earned runs, walked a batter and hit another in his three innings of work to pick up the loss.

Lawson was 1 for 2 at the plate with a walk, while Contreras and Parker Browning added one hit apiece.

Forks hasn’t scored a run in 19 innings spread across three games.

Forks (2-5, 0-5) will host Rainier on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Eatonville 10, Chimacum 2

CHIMACUM — The Cowboys went ahead 1-0 after the first inning, but eight errors eventually pulled down Chimacum to another defeat.

Tracyn Anderson and Yoshiki Ishiuchi were each 2 for 4 at the plate for the Cowboys and Drew Yakulic was 2 for 3.

Chimacum visits Seattle Christian on Tuesday.
