PREP BASEBALL: Forks uses power and pitching to sweep Raymond-South Bend

SOUTH BEND — The Forks baseball team crushed Raymond-South Bend, belting 30 hits and only allowing eight in wins of 19-2 and 10-0 in a Friday Pacific 2B League doubleheader.

Dylan Micheau and Landen Olson had huge games in the first victory as the Spartans scored 12 runs in the fourth to end the game.

Micheau hit a home run and had six RBIs. He was 2-for-2 overall with three walks and a run. Olson was 2-for-4 with five RBIs, four runs scored and two stolen bases.

Gunner Rogers pitched a four-inning complete game victory, allowing four hits and striking out seven.

Aidan Salazar hit a pair of doubles, scored three runs and drove in three. Landin Davis was 4-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBIs and two stolen bases.

In the nightcap, Salazar pitched the complete-game shutout, going five innings, allowing four hits and striking out seven.

At the plate, Bubba Hernandez was 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Rogers was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs while Salazar and Olson each had two hits.

Forks (4-1, 6-2-1) is off for spring break until April 6 (Noon at Civic Field) when the Spartans will play at Port Angeles in what should be a battle between a good 2B team and a good 2A team.
