BEAVER — Forks tamed the Ocosta Wildcats, coming from behind for a 4-3 win in extra innings and claiming the second game 6-3 in a Pacific League twinbill at Fred Orr Memorial Field in Beaver.
Ocosta took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth in Game One when Logan Olson singled with one out to get the Spartans’ rally started.
A two-out single to left field by Trey Baysinger knotted the game back up, and a Tyler Wood single and Riley Pursley walk loaded the bases for Forks.
With Raymond Davis at the plate, Baysinger came home with the winning run on a passed ball with a 2-1 count.
Carter Windle went the distance for the Spartans, allowing three runs, one earned, on seven hits, striking out 12 and walking zero.
Forks plated four runs to open the five-inning Game Two, with Olson stealing home, an RBI double by Wood, an RBI single by Windle and a Walker Rondeau groundout scoring the final run.
Olson singled, Pursley doubled, and a Baysinger groundout added a pair of runs to put the Spartans up 6-0 after two innings.
Olson struck out 10 while allowing just one hit and walking no batters in four innings to earn the win.
Ryan Rancourt finished the game out, with passed balls, wild pitches, a walk and an error leading to three Wildcat runs.
Forks (5-0) visits North Beach for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Bainbridge 14, Sequim 1
SEQUIM — The Wolves were limited to two hits in a loss to the powerful Class 3A Spartans, a team with three NCAA Division I commits.
Zach McCracken drove in Sequim’s run with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.
UCLA pitching commit JR Ritchie went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs to lead Bainbridge at the plate.
The Wolves (1-4) host East Jefferson on Monday.
