Port Angeles wins double-dual swim meet vs. Sequim, Port Townsend

Port Angeles defeated both Sequim and Port Townsend in a double-dual girls swim meet Tuesday at the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center.

The Roughriders won 122-64 over Sequim and 132-49 over Port Townsend.

Sequim, meanwhile, beat Port Townsend 115-66.

Port Angeles” Jessica Hawkins was a double event winner against Sequim, taking the 50 and 100 freestyles. She clocked 26.74 seconds and 59.52, respectively.

Lesley Everett won the 200 free in a personal-best 2:23.74 against both Sequim and Port Townsend.

The Roughriders’ Brianna Allen took first in diving against both opponents with a season-high score of 149.75, and Jerrah Holth won the 100 backstroke (1:05.60), also against both opponents.

Kami Pratum of Port Angeles won the 500 free (6:27.60) against Sequim, and Karen Eldred took the 100 fly (1:07.68) against Port Townsend.

Eldred, Hawkins, Holth and Ashley Eggert teamed up to win the 200 medley and 400 free relays for Port Angeles against both Sequim and Port Townsend.

Also, Jana Moseley qualified for districts in the 500 free, clocking a personal-best 6:49.61.

For Sequim, Summer Jackson won the 100 butterfly in a personal-best 1:00.13 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.16 against both Port Angeles and Port Townsend.

Haley White won the 200 individual medley (2:33.80) in both duals.

Against Port Townsend, the Wolves’ Sarah Fletcher won the 200 free (2:31.76), Kelsey Howat took the 50 free (30.35), and Kelcie Nice was first in diving (127.80).

Fletcher, Jackson, Nice and White teamed up for victory in the 200 free relay against both the Roughriders and Redskins.

For Port Townsend, Sarah Glaspell won the 100 free (58.28) in both duals, and Maya Johnson duplicated the showing in the 500 free (6:15.36).

Glaspell also won the 100 back (1:11.45) against Sequim.

The Redskins’ Amelia Ferrel won both the 200 individual medley (2:35.55) and 100 breast (1:15.44) against Port Angeles.
