KAMLOOPS, B.C. — The Port Angeles Lefties erupted for an eight-run third inning and then had to rally for three runs in the eighth to pull away in a wild 15-11 win over Kamloops.
The Lefties (9-17 second half, 20-33 overall) wrapped up their season in Kamloops, B.C., on Wednesday night after press deadline.
The game featured a combined 34 hits and 50 baserunners. The Lefties had 21 hits, including a home run by Dom Dominguez (Cal State, San Bernardino), and 10 stolen bases. Seven Lefties had multiple hits.
Starter Dillon Carrell (Santa Ana College) struggled, allowing eight hits and eight earned runs in four innings. Aidan Colin (Coppin State) came in during the fifth inning with the score 10-8 and settled down the Kamloops bats, earning the victory. He allowed five hits and three earned runs in five innings. He walked two and struck out three.
Taylor Kirk (Fordham) accomplished a rare feat — seven at-bats in a nine-inning game. He finished 3-for-7 with a run scored and two stolen bases.
Jack Edmunds (Brown) remained red-hot, going 3-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. He finished the game at .308 with 32 RBIs on the season. His seven home runs are tied for fifth in the West Coast League.
Eddie Alfaro (Riverside CC) went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Will White (Cal State, Bakersfield) went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBIs and two stolen bases.
Kayne Jinks (Tennessee Tech), normally a pitcher but playing third base, went 3-for-5 with a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases.
Jeremy Giesegh went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base, and finally, Dominguez finished 2-for-6 with a run scored and two RBIs. Garrett Patterson (Chaffey) had a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
In addition to Edmunds, Kirk (.295) and Tommy Markey (.292) have a chance to finish the season above .300 after today’s game.
