PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Lefties salvaged the third game of a three-game series, winning behind a pair of home runs and a good performance from five pitchers that kept the Walla Walla batters at bay in a 5-3 win at Civic Field on Sunday.
Port Angeles only had four hits all game, but three of them were for extra bases. In fact, the Lefties struggled to hit all weekend against Walla Walla’s pitchers, managing just 17 hits in three games.
Riley Parker (Cal State San Bernardino) belted a two-run home run in Sunday’s victory and Evan Jilbert (Edmonds College) added a solo shot. Jesh Leckey (New Mexico Military Institute) also had an RBI double.
On the mound, Andrew Hauck (Utah Valley) started, going four innings and allowing no runs. He gave up just two hits and one walk while striking out two.
The Sweets did everything they could to rally, scoring a run in the eighth inning and putting the tying run on base with back-to-back singles in the top of the ninth inning with two outs. Dillon Dibrell (Northern Oklahoma College) came in to get the final out of the game on a grounder to preserve the victory.
Port Angeles (8-9) has today off and begins a week-long road trip. The Lefties begin a three-game series against first-place Bellingham (10-4) on Tuesday and will play at Kamloops (9-7) over the weekend.

Friday’s, Saturday’s games
Walla Walla pitchers had their way with Port Angeles hitters on Friday and Saturday, allowing just two runs in a 7-1 Saturday win and a 4-1 Friday win over the Lefties.
The highlight of Saturday’s game was a home run by the Lefties’ Will Mulflur (University of Iowa and Tacoma Community College), playing in just his third game of the year for Port Angeles. Mulflur went 2-for-4 on the day.
Golden Tate (Notre Dame), Colin Curry (Seattle University) and Ben Steck (Santa Clara) all had singles for the Lefties, but that was all the offense Port Angeles could muster.
Andres Quinones (Cal State San Bernardino) started the game and took the loss. He went 4⅓ innings and allowed just four hits, but walked four and allowed five earned runs. He struck out three.
The Lefties got outstanding pitching performances from Hunter Kirkpatrick (San Diego CC) and Liam Paddack (Spokane Falls CC) on Friday, but they couldn’t get a big hit of their own in a tough pitchers’ duel.
Kirkpatrick pitched five shutout innings as the Lefties and Sweets were locked in a 0-0 tie for much of the game. Walla Walla finally broke through for three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh.
Kirkpatrick ended up going 6⅓ innings, giving up four earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out nine. Paddack went the final 2⅔, giving up one hit and walking two, but allowing no runs. He struck out three.
Port Angeles did have eight hits, but they were scattered throughout the game. They managed one run in the eighth on a Derek Bogh (Cal State San Bernardino) double followed by a Riley Parker (Cal State San Bernardino) RBI single.
Parker finished the game 3-for-4 while BY Choi (New Mexico Military Institute) was 2-for-2 with two walks. Former Port Angeles Roughrider Ethan Flodstrom (Tacoma CC) had a hit and Tate a walk.
