KAMLOOPS, B.C. — It looks like the Lefties love Canadian cooking.
The Lefties completed a three-game sweep, beating the Kamloops NorthPaws 14-5 on Sunday. They beat Kamloops 11-1 on Saturday and 2-1 on Friday.
Roberto Nunez (Embry-Riddle) erupted in Sunday’s game, going 5-for-6 with a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored. He also went 3-for-5 on Saturday. After this weekend, he is batting .446 (25-for-46) on the season, second in the West Coast League. He is also second in the WCL with 16 RBIs on the season.
Chris Schuchart of Poulsbo (San Mateo College) had a double and three RBIs, while Chase Taylor (Hawaii Pacific) had a double, two runs scored and three walks.
Zachary Kim (Chicago University), normally a pitcher, played DH and went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Owen Alsup (West Texas A&M) had a hit and two RBIs.
In all the Lefties totaled 16 hits as every player in the lineup had at least one hit. Nelson Smith (Arkansas-Little Rock) was the winning pitcher. Kamloops used eight pitchers to try and stop the bleeding.

Saturday’s game
The Lefties banged out 12 hits and got a combined five-hitter from their staff in an 11-1 victory over Kamloops on Saturday.
Jack O’Brien (Hawaii Pacific) started the game, going 6⅓ innings and allowing four hits and no earned runs. He walked one and struck out four. Relievers Christopher Mazza (Long Island University), Shea Blanchard (Hawaii Pacific) and Wes Peninger (Utah Valley) went a combined 2⅔, allowing one hit and six walks. They struck out three. Kamloops’ lone run was unearned.
At the plate, Nunez, Alsup, MJ Kim (New Mexico Military Institute) and Sam Adams (Stephen F. Austin) all had big games.
Nunez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, a walk and two RBIs. Kim batted 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, a stolen base and an RBI, while Alsup was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, a sacrifice fly and three RBIs.
Adams was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, a walk and two RBIs. Trent Jackson was 1-for-4 with an RBI, run scored and two walks.
The Lefties (5-10) have Monday off for a travel day. They return to action back at Civic Field for a six-game homestand, beginning with a 6:35 p.m. game against the Nanaimo NightOwls (6-8).
