PENINSULA SOCCER LEAGUE: Strait Slice Pizza wins PSL title

PORT ANGELES ­— Strait Slice Pizza shut out High Energy Metals 3-0 Sunday to win the Peninsula Soccer League’s Fall Championship.

High Energy Metals led the league much of the season but Strait Slice kept pace and was able to leapfrog HEM with a final-game victory.

Zach Gray scored a pair of first-half goals and Taryn Asmus found the net in the second half to lead Strait Slice to the title.

Strait Slice finished with a record of 8-1-1 (25 points), while High Energy Metals and Salazar Painting were right behind at 7-2-1 (23 points) in second place.

In other matches, Salazar Painting beat Forks FC 3-0, Meyer Electric defeated Windermere 3-0 for fifth place, while Los Primos and the Bandidos tied 2-2.

Pantry & Latch beat Ediz Hook 8-2 with Matt Heinan scoring a hat trick.

Forks FC finished fourth at 7-3-0, Meyer Electric ended up 5-4-1, Windermere and Bandidos were each 4-5-1, Los Primos 3-6-1, Pantry & Latch 2-8-0 and Ediz Hook 0-10.
