PORT ANGELES — Local 155 improved its record to 11-1 by jumping out to an early lead over Swains last week, going on to win 14-5.
Local 155 scored on a double by Brandt Perry in the first inning, a fielders choice by Carson Waddell in the second inning, and a double by Bryce DeLeon in the second, taking a 5-3 lead at the end of two.
Local 155 earned the victory despite allowing Swain’s to score three runs in the second inning. Diego Waterkotte, Jensen Wolfe and Myles Taylor each drove in runs for Swain’s.
Local 155 responded with five runs in the fifth. Local 155’s big inning was driven by singles by Perry, Jaron Tolliver and Ethan Barbre, a triple by Chris Jaynes and a fielder’s choice by DeLeon.
Perry led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Local 155. The right-hander allowed three hits while striking out six. Giving way to DeLeon who gave up one run and struck out nine while walking just one.
Local 155 saw the ball well, racking up 11 hits in the game. Jaynes, Perry, Ian Smithson each had multiple hits, with Jaynes going 3-for-4. Tolliver, Felix Gonzales and Ethan Barbre had singles.
Swain’s collected eight hits in the game. Kyhler Fowler, Waterkotte and Myles Taylor each managed multiple hits, while Eden Peterson and Jensen Wolfe had one hit each.
