NEW YORK — Duke’s Zion Williamson was the first pick by New Orleans in the NBA Draft held Thursday, at the Barcley’s Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Gonzaga’s Rui Hachimura was the ninth player taken, by the Washington Wizards. His Gonzaga teammate Brandon Clarke was the 21st player taken by Memphis after a trade with Oklahoma City. Washington’s Matisse Thybulle was the 20th pick by Philadelphia 76ers after a trade with the Boston Celtics. Thybulle’s Huskies’ teammate Jaylen Nowell was taken in the second round by Minnesota.
