Motocross racing weekend slated at Deer Park course

PORT ANGELES — Olympic Peninsula Motorcycle Club will host its Spring Break Mini Moto-X weekend of dirt bike racing Saturday and Sunday at the club track, 1306 Deer Park Road.

Practice will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, with fees set at $30.

Race day is Sunday with practice beginning at 9 a.m. and racing following.

Spectators are $10 at the gate, free for ages 7 and younger.

Race entry is $40.

There will be a $2,500 purse for the 50cc, 65cc, Supermini and Schoolboy classes with $300 prizes for first place.

The next racing weekend is set April 19-20.

PC Pirate Pals

PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College’s Pirate Pal basketball program will begin its spring session April 6.

Pirate Pals’ aim is for area players in grades 4-through-8 to become the best basketball players they can be while building connections with their Peninsula College Pirates basketball teams.

Each Pirate Pal Session will be eight consecutive Sundays for an hour, beginning at 5 p.m.

It is important that each pal plans to attend all sessions, as there will be no refunds for single day absences.

Advance registration is requested in order to figure out the number of coaches needed for the amount of players.

Registration is $200 for new Pals, $150 for returning Pals and $150 for an additional Pal from the same family.

Rhody Float golf

PORT ANGELES — The Rhody Festival Parade Float Reveal Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at the Camas Prarie Park, formerly the Port Townsend Golf Course.

The tournament is a two-person alternate shot format with lunch and individual awards included.

Entry is $50 per person and registration is available at ptgolfpark.org or in the pro shop.

Twenty percent of the proceeds will benefit May’s Rhody Festival during the celebration’s 90th anniversary.

Youth flag football

PORT ANGELES — Youth Athletes For Christ will host a six-week six-on-six flag football league for players in grades 1-11 this spring.

Coaches include Port Angeles’ Jason Hawes, Terry Wopperer, Ryan DeTorres, Joseph Ritchie, Brayden Wopperer and Tanner Flores.

The league will run on Saturdays from April 5 through May 10 with all games on the turf at the Monroe Playfield, 102 Monroe Road.

The cost is $175.

Cornhole hoops benefit

SEQUIM — The third annual Sequim Youth Basketball Cornhole Tournament is set for 7 Cedars Casino at 1 p.m. April 19.

The tournament is open to those ages 21 and older.

It will have a double-elimination format played with house bags.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.

T-shirts will be available. An airmail contest will be held.

Additional raffle ticket prizes will be awarded.

Entry fee is $40.
