East Jefferson’s Lanphear-Ramirez also reaches girls 115 semifinal

TACOMA — Seven North Olympic Peninsula wrestlers reached the semifinals at Mat Classic XXXIV, the state wrestling championships, in early action Friday at the Tacoma Dome.

Six of those seven semifinalists are Forks grapplers, propelling the Spartans into a tight scrap in the chase for the Class 1B/2B team state championship with 84.5 points, just one point behind first-place Tonasket in matches wrestled before Friday’s evening session.

Tonasket saw eight of its 11 wrestlers reach the semifinals.

Forks semifinalists are 113-pounder Jesus Garcia-Dominguez; Conner Demorest (126); Kevin Camacho-Roldan (132); Kaleb Blanton (152); Nate Dahlgren (182) and Sloan Tumaua (220).

The other area semifinalist is East Jefferson’s Mi Amada Lanphear-Ramirez. Lanphear-Ramirez reached the 115-pound division semifinals in the B/1A/2A/ Girls Tournament after earning a pin at 2:21 of her first-round match with Forks’ Peyton Johnson.

Lanphear-Ramirez (33-5) followed up with a 6-2 decision over Warden’s Jada Hernandez, who is 42-5 on the season and was seeded second in the bracket.
