LEFTIES: Port Angeles arms toss 4-hitter, defeat Kelowna 6-1

PORT ANGELES — Andres Quinones went five-plus strong innings, allowing no runs, B.Y. Choi and Riley Parker each drove in a pair of runs and the Port Angeles Lefties bounced back with a 6-1 win over Kelowna.

Port Angeles staked Quinones to a 2-0 lead in Wednesday night’s contest after the second inning when Ethan Flodstrom reached on a single and later scored on Danny Briones’ fielders’ choice.

Weston Peninger added the second run when he drew a walk and came in on Adam Paganelli’s sacrifice fly.

Back-to-back two-run singles by Choi and Parker in the sixth pushed the Lefties’ lead to 6-0.

Parker is hitting a team-best .325 in WCL games, while Choi is at .298 for the summer.

Quinones scattered three hits, walking one and striking out one batter.

Trey Maeker struck out two in the final frame to earn the save for Port Angeles (13-21).

The Lefties head to Longview for a three-game set with the Cowlitz Black Bears today through Sunday at Story Field.
