LEFTIES: Nine-run fourth inning dooms Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Oof. Maybe the less said about Port Angeles’ 19-2 loss to the Kelowna Falcons on Tuesday night at Civic Field the better.

Trailing 4-2 after a first-inning single from Adam Paganelli and Hayden Driggs’ second inning RBI single, Port Angeles’ hopes sank after giving up nine runs in the top of the fourth.

That foul fourth included four free passes, three consecutive batters hit by pitches and four hits, including a two-run double and three RBI singles handed out by Lefties’ pitchers Dillon Dibrell, Will Isaly, Ryan Wike and Aaron Rettew.

Lefties reliever Devon Daniels scattered four hits across 3 1/3 scoreless innings in a bright spot on a tough night for Port Angeles (12-21).

The Lefties wrap their home stretch tonight with the finale against Kelowna. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
