LEFTIES: Bellingham walks it off in series opener

Parker leading team in batting average, RBIs

BELLINGHAM — Christopher Campos’ RBI single handed Port Angeles a 2-1 walk-off defeat against WCL North Division leading Bellingham (11-4) in the first game of a three-game road set against the Bells at Joe Martin Stadium.

Campos singled off Lefties pitcher Zack Ediger, who came on in relief for Dillon Dibrell after Dibrell allowed two walks with one out in the bottom of the ninth.

Ediger hit a batter to load the bases and Campos walked it off for the Bells.

Port Angeles had loaded the bases with one out in the visiting half of the ninth inning on an Evan Jilbert single, an Isaiah Munoz walk and an intentional walk to leadoff hitter Colin Curry. But Will Mulfur struck out swinging and B.Y. Choi grounded out to second base to end the inning.

Parker, Pfeffer play well

The Lefties scored their lone run on a Riley Parker RBI single that brought home Choi.

Parker had three of Port Angeles’ seven hits on the night, raising his team-high batting average to .396 (21-for-53 with one home run and five doubles) and running his team-high RBI total to 13.

Lefties starter John Pfeffer continued his run of strong outings. Pfeffer went six innings, allowing one run while scattering seven hits and striking out six. In 21 innings across four appearances with Port Angeles, Pfeffer (0-0) has a paltry 1.28 ERA, 26 strikeouts and just six walks.
