JeffCo adult softball league registration open

PORT TOWNSEND — Registration is underway for Jefferson County Parks and Recreation’s adult coed softball league.

Games are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings at HJ Carroll Park in Chimacum, Irondale Park and Memorial Field in Port Townsend.

The season will run from June 3 through mid-July with a championship tournament set for the final two weeks of July.

Teams from around Jefferson County and surrounding areas are welcome to participate.

The registration deadline is April 25. A coaches’ meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 1 at the Rec Center in Port Townsend.

Team fees are $385.

Kids bowl free

PORT ANGELES — Laurel Lanes’ Kids Bowl Free program runs now through Labor Day.

Kids Bowl Free provides two free games of bowling each day for youth ages 2 to 18. Shoe rental is not included.

Family passes also can be purchased for a one-time fee, which allows parents or other adults in the family to participate and bowl two games with the kids each day.

Rhody Run sign up

PORT TOWNSEND — Registration for the 2025 Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run is open through Thursday.

The Rhody Run, which includes a 10-kilometer run, a 5K and a free kids run for ages 5 and younger is set for May 18.

Registration is $48.70 with fees included for the 10K and the 5K for adults, and $16.90 for kids ages 6-17.

Attend M’s, help kids

PORT ANGELES — Enjoy the Seattle Mariners-Houston Astros baseball game at T-Mobile Park July 20 and a portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Clallam County Shop With a Hero program.

Shop With a Hero started in 2020 to support children in foster care receiving social services benefits from partner agencies.

The event, hosted at Port Angeles Walmart, pairs children with area law enforcement or first responders, allowing them to shop for themselves or their families along with gift wrapping, hot chocolate and photos with Santa Claus.

Tickets are $63, with $10 from sales directed to the Port Angeles Police Association and Friends of Clallam County Child Advocates, the nonprofit organizations that manage the program.

Available sections include 110-112, 114 and 116, all field level seats along the right-field line in foul territory.

Hoops at the park

CHIMACUM — Jefferson County Parks and Recreation will host weekly Sunday hoops sessions at HJ Carroll Park beginning this Sunday.

Children in grades 1-6 can play from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Parents are welcome to shoot hoops and play with their kids.

Players should bring their own ball.
