It’s official: Cy Young Award-winning pitcher Cliff Lee is heading to the Seattle Mariners, the team’s Web site, www.mariners.com, reports.

The Mariners today announced they acquired Lee from the Philadelphia Phillies for three minor league players — pitcher Phillippe Aumont, outfielder Tyson Gillies and pitcher JC Ramirez.

The trade was part of a three-team deal that saw the Phillies acquire pitcher Roy Halladay from the Blue Jays for three minor leaguers and cash.

“We are very excited to have Cliff Lee on-board in the Seattle organization,” said general manager Jack Zduriencik. “It goes without saying what a quality pitcher and competitor he is and what he will mean to our ballclub and organization.”
