GYMNASTICS: Klahhane Xcel Bronze team takes first

Xcel Gold’s Ciarlo claims third straight vault win

MUKILTEO — The Klahhane Gymnastics Xcel Team had a packed weekend, competing in two different meets.

On Friday, the Xcel Gold and Xcel Platinum teams competed at the Battle in Bellevue meet, hosted by Gym East at the Maydenbauer Center. On Sunday, the Xcel Bronze and Xcel Silver teams competed at the Biggest Little Meet, hosted by Gymnagine Gymnastics in Mukilteo.

Xcel Gold gymnast Raynee Ciarlo, 13, continued her winning streak on the vault, securing first with a score of 9.050 — her third consecutive meet winning this event. She also delivered a strong performance on the floor, earning a 9.025 and finished sixth in the all-around with a score of 35.8.

The Xcel Bronze team brought home another first-place team victory, making it their second first-place finish this season. Highlights include a stunning 9.8 vault from Kinley Matthews, 9, who was first in the all-around in her age group with a 37.2, Lucy Monaghan, 8, placed first in her age group with a 37.65, the top all-around for Klahhane at the meet. Nora Pecoraro, 8, also earned first in the all-around for her age group with a score of 37.3.

Representing Klahhane’s Xcel Silver team solo, Zayleigh McCullem, 8, delivered an impressive all-around performance, scoring a 9.6 on the vault, 9.3 on the bars, 9.25 on the beam and a 9.2 in the floor exercise with a second-place all-around score of 37.35.
