GOLF: Tisdale, Osterberg win Peninsula Men’s Club

PORT ANGELES — Jade Tisdale shot a 1-over-par 145 to win the 2020 Men’s Club Championship by nine strokes at the Peninsula Golf Club this weekend.

Al Osterberg shot an 8-under-par to win the net championship.

Tisdale led from the get-go, shooting a 72 on his first day Saturday and adding a solid 73 Sunday to win both days. He held a seven-stroke lead after the first day.

Coming in second in the gross scores were Kerry Perkins, Steve Payne and Michael Dupuis. They all shot a 10-over-par 154.

Osterberg shot a net 66 on his first day and a 70 on his second day. Tisdale came in second place in the net scores with a 5-under-par 139 (69 and 70), though Steve Jones picked up the second-place cash prizes for gross (since Tisdale was a net winner) with a 2-under-par 142 (70, 72). Perkins also had a net 142, but again picked up the cash award for his gross score.

Osterberg had the top scores for day one, while Perkins had the top score for day two with a 69. Perkins finished third in the net overall with a 2-under-par 142 (73, 69), tied with Steve Jones (70, 72).

The First Flight gross winner was Kerry Perkins with a 154, the Second Flight gross winner was Todd Irwin with a 165, and the Third Flight gross winner was Gary Valencia with a 183.

The First Flight net winner was Steve Payne with a 148, the Second Flight net winner was Steve Jones with a 142, and the Third Flight net winner was Jan Hardin.
