Golf for Grads June 4 in Sequim

SEQUIM — Sunland Golf & Country Club member Brent Lawson recorded his first career hole-in-one on May 11.

Lawson aced Sunland’s fifth hole from 150 yards out with his Cobra 7-wood and a Noodle golf ball. The shot was witnessed by Bill Palmer.

Golf for Grads

SEQUIM — A Golf for Grads Tournament at The Cedars at Dungeness on June 4 will benefit a safe and sober graduation party for the Sequim High School Class of 2021.

The four-person scramble event does not require a handicap.

Registration opens at 11 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Entry fees are $90 per player and include green fees, cart use, a long drive contest, a closest to the pin contest and drink tickets. Optional honey pots also are available.

Couples invite

PORT LUDLOW — Port Ludlow Golf Course will host a Couples Invitational on Saturday with tee times starting at 10:30 a.m. and running until 2:30 p.m.

The event has a Modified Chapman format in which both players tee off then switch shots and play their partners’ ball, then choose the best shot with alternate strokes until the ball is in the cup.

Entry fees are $160 per team and include green fees, range balls and lunch. Cart rental is $30.

Handicaps are required for scoring purposes with a maximum of 40 for women and 35 for men.
