SEQUIM — The Clallam County Amateur Championship, a three-day, 54-hole competition, will be contested across three area courses the weekend of July 9-11.
Open to all amateur golfers, entry fees are $150 for the public and $120 per annual member or employee.
The 54-hole medal play competition will include three amateur divisions and will start July 9 with 10 a.m. tee times at Peninsula Golf Club in Port Angeles and Sunland Golf & Country Club in Sequim.
Sunland and Peninsula will have 9 a.m. tee times for round two (Friday/Saturday rounds will be split between the two courses).
Play will move over to The Cedars at Dungeness for the final round July 11, with tee times set for 9 a.m.
Entry fees include the three rounds of golf, range balls, prizes, raffles, a KP contest and a final-round meal.
There will be chance at winning a $5,000 cash hole-in-one prize each day.
All players must have a valid USGA handicap.
Entries are due by July 5.

PORT LUDLOW — Port Ludlow Golf Club will host the second annual Mitch Black Charity Golf Tournament on Sept. 19.
Black was a longtime Chimacum High School teacher and founder and coach of the high school golf program for 35-plus years. He died in May 2020 and a scholarship fund was set up in his name by Friends of Chimacum Schools, the hosts of the tournament.
“Last year was an overwhelming success and we are hoping this year will far exceed those numbers,” said Marianne Walters of Friends of Chimacum Schools.
The four-person scramble will have a $400 entry fee per team, which includes green fees, cart use, lunch and on-course competitions.
Tee times will begin at 10 a.m.
Golfers also can purchase mulligans for $5 at check-in.

Trafton records ace
SEQUIM — The Cedars at Dungeness member Lawrence Trafton recorded his first-ever hole-in-one recently at the course.
Trafton aced the eighth hole from 121 yards out with his pitching wedge and a Callaway Soft ball on May 10.
The shot was witnessed by Cary Richardson, Karl Brehm and Gary Schneider.
