PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend and Discovery Bay women recently honored the passing of two of their golfing members who died earlier this year — Janie Marcus, who died in January, and Naomi Marcus, who died in May, daughter and mother.
A commemorative bench to honor both has been placed at the entry of the Port Townsend Golf Course at the red tee box on hole No. 5. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a formal dedication ceremony has yet to be scheduled.
The Port Townsend Women’s Golf Club held its club championship tournament at the end of September. The winners in this tournament had the best 18-hole score by combining the best two of three nine-hole rounds. The winners were: Low Gross, Starla Audette, 96; and Low Net, Judy Munden, 63.
The Discovery Bay Women’s Golf Club held its seasonal championship tournament at the end of August.
The competitors played two 18-hole rounds and the best score on each hole from both rounds determined the final 18-hole score.

Low Net — Dee Sweeney, first, 59; Starla Audette, second, 62; Jane Guiltinan, third, 67.
Sunland Golf & Country Club
Sunland Golf & Country Club held its 2020 men’s super seniors club championship Thursday in Sequim.
The overall champion was Jay Tomlin with a two-day gross score of 156 (79-77). Tomlin won a $100 golf shop credit.
The overall net champion was Joe McKinnon with a two-day net score of 132 (2 under par). He also won a $100 golf shop credit.

SWGA Super Seniors Club Championship
Bobbie Piety was the SWGA Super Seniors overall champion at Sunland Golf & Country Club. She had a two-day gross score of 179 (89-90) and won a $120 golf shop credit.
The overall net champion was Janet Real with a two-day net score of 144. She also won a $120 golf shop credit.
