GIRLS SOCCER: Port Angeles stumbles in regular-season finale, have playoff game Saturday in Tacoma

Peninsula Daily News

BELFAIR — The Port Angeles girls soccer team finished out their regular season schedule with a 2-0 road loss to North Mason on Wednesday.

The loss dropped the Roughriders (7-5, 9-7) into the fourth seed in the Class 2A West Central District tournament.

“We seem to be limping across the finish line over the last four games,” said coach Scott Moseley.

“We’ve been weak defensively and offensively. That’s not how you want to go into the post season.”

Moseley noted the midfield play of Emily Boyd and the defensive work of Lucah Folden.

“Both players had outstanding games and played a critical role as we battled to gain goals in the second half,” he said.

The Riders face Eatonville (8-5-4) in a loser-out district playoff game Saturday at 4 p.m. at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma.
