GIRLS PREP BOWLING: Sequim bounces back to edge PA 4-3.

PORT ANGELES — The Sequim bowling team nipped Port Angeles 4-3 Monday afternoon in an Olympic League contest at Laurel Lanes.

After a strong first game, Port Angeles had a 119-pin lead at 639 to 520, but the Roughriders cooled down in the second game, allowing the Wolves to win the second game and both Bakers to earn the match victory.

Sequim won the second game 614 to 607, then won both Bakers 117-104 and 119-105.

Port Angeles’ Zoey Van Gordon led all bowlers with a two-game total of 324 (149, 175). Xoey Penn had a 134 in game one and finished with a total score of 234. Lucy Townsend averaged a consistent 126 for the match (124, 128), while Kenadie Ring bowled a 237 (125, 112) and Izzy Spencer 199 (107, 92)

Sequim was led by a 168 from Kimberly Heintz in game two (277 total), helping the Wolves to the win. Sequim also got a 242 (127, 115) from Victoria Nava and 225 (99, 126) from Sarah Alhaddad. Keira Morey bowled a 193 (92, 101). Skylar Kryzyworz and Sallie Alhaddad combined for a 203.

Sequim next hosts Klahowya at 3 p.m. Monday at Laurel Lanes. Port Angeles next bowls at North Mason on Tuesday.
