FORKS — Jayden Olson hit four 3-pointers and the Spartans had four girls with at least nine points in a 58-29 win over Port Townsend.
Olson led the Spartans with 13 points. Chloe Leverington had 12, Rian Peters 11, and Kadie Wood nine.
“Jayden bounced back. She got some shots falling. She was excited as was I,” said coach David Hurn.
“We had three or four people step up in scoring. We’ve struggled in the past scoring points, so far this year, we’re doing a little bit better,” Hurn said. He also credited bench players Kray Horton and Mya Rondeau for playing well defensively.
The Redhawks were led by Gina Brown and Izzy Hammett, who each scored nine.
“The girls played super hard. Our backup post was not available so we were shorthanded, but everyone rallied. Another step in the right direction,” said Redhawks’ coach Lorraine Rimson.
Forks (3-1) continues its long preleague schedule with a home game at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Klahowya (2-4).
Port Townsend (1-0, 2-4) plays at Klahowya at 7 p.m. Tuesday in an Olympic League 1A Division game.

BELFAIR — Kalli Wiker sank eight 3-point baskets to tie the all-time Sequim High School record (boys or girls) originally set by current Wolves’ boys assistant Art Green (class of 1991).
Unaware of the record and with the game out of reach, Wiker was pulled early, otherwise she would have been given a shot at taking sole possession of the mark.
“I didn’t know this at the time or I would have left in her in the game to break it,” Rapelje said.
Wiker, who ended up scoring 26 points, wasn’t the only Sequim standout in Friday’s win.
“We played a great team game with a lot of unselfish passes,” Rapelje said.
“Hope Glasser had a double-double as she added 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals to her 14 points. Jayla Julmist also had a double-double, adding 16 rebounds, three assists, and two steals to her 13 points.”
Sequim (2-0, 5-0) visits Bremerton (0-2, 2-4) on Tuesday.

Klahowya 62, Chimacum 14
SILVERDALE — The Cowboys were beaten up on the scoreboard and on the court in a physically challenging loss to the Eagles, according to coach Trevor Huntingford.
Klahowya is coached by former Vashon head coach Chris Koebelin who runs basketball camps in Kitsap County. Koebelin’s daughter Ella, is now the Eagles’ starting point guard.
“Klahowya is much improved and she’s the piece that makes it go,” Huntingford said. “I think she went for 18 in the first half. They were flying around on defense and their pressure is really good this year. They understand ball rotation against zones, jump traps really well. And we are super youthful and inexperienced and we have to look for growth in every single practice and every single game.”
Katie Clark and Jadeah Nordberg each scored three points to lead Chimacum (0-2, 1-3).
Chimacum visits Chief Kitsap Academy on Monday.
