GIRLS GOLF: Sequim’s McMenamin and O’Mera lead Wolves to Duke Streeter titles

PORT ANGELES — Sequim swept the girls Duke Streeter Invitational at Peninsula Golf Club.

The Wolves won the team title and Megan O’Mera and Alex McMenamin were the match medalists of Tuesday’s two-person, nine-hole scramble tournament.

Sequim finished with a score of 124 to beat out Kingston by nine strokes. Capital was third with 128, then North Kitsap with 143 and Port Angeles with 145.

O’Mera and McMenamin teamed up to shoot a 35.

Port Angeles’ Maddie Boe and Hailey Scott were the North Olympic Peninsula’s second-best duo with a score of 42.

Sydney Balkan and Kelly Anders had a 43 for Sequim, and fellow Wolves Sarah Shea and Samantha Smith finished at 46.

Rose Shinn-Clark and Gillian Elofson of Port Angeles also carded a 46, while teammates Jaden Dugger and Lexie Jeffers shot 54 and Olivia Due and Maya Wharton shot 57.

The Wolves and Riders next play at the Olympic League championship at Cedars at Dungeness next Tuesday.
